Zayin Aqua uses modern recirculating aquaculture technology to produce fresh edible fish (tilapia and catfish), fresh vegetables and beautiful ornamental fish for the aquarium market in the country. With the help of modern technology, we are able to optimize our production and produce high quality fish and vegetables in a controlled, safe environment.

We are also happy to introduce modern Bio-floc system which is basically an inclusion of heterotrophic bacteria and other microbial species in the culture water. Biofloc systems rely on photosynthesis to convert uneaten feeds, faecal matter and excess nutrients inthe water column into food for the fish. This enables us to save on feed costs and the fish live in a cleaner environment hence the final product is not only superior but also produced in a cost effective system.

We have coupled several green technologies to enable us to be sustainable and consequently have contributed towards a cleaner environment. Our solar systems, vermicomposters, biofloc systems and RAS systems are some of our cutting-edge modern integration of tech into agricultural production which has given us a competitive edge in the market. Our results-based aproach has been a game changer in the market and we intend to work more towards research and development of even better technologies to bring farms closer to the city or even within cities to provide high quality food to the table.

We have very juicy and sweet mangoes and oranges from our main orchard in the heart of Makueni. We are able to sell the fruits locally in the markets, to supermarkets, academic institutions, fruit processing facilities and the feedback has always been very encouraging to us as we are proud of the products that we are producing and supplying locally as we hope to tap into the export market in the near future.
